REBUILD:
Building a Framework for Philanthropic Engagement

Please join Philanthropy Network Greater Philadelphia and the Rebuild Leadership Group for a conversation about the City of Philadelphia's REBUILD initiative.  Over the past several months, Philanthropy Network has been convening a small member-led leadership group to help shape and create a framework for broad philanthropic engagement to support this citywide, $500 million joint public-private partnership to revitalize parks, recreation centers, playgrounds, and libraries across Philadelphia.

During this meeting we will hear from City Representatives about the vision and structure for this innovative effort, as well as from REBUILD’s early philanthropic investors.  We will also share a draft philanthropic investment framework and solicit member feedback as we continue to build an investment structure for REBUILD that is accessible, aligned, and flexible, providing multiple entry points for funders to engage and invest with confidence.

Please come to learn more and share your perspective on this important initiative.

Speakers:

  • Siobhan Reardon, President and Director, Free Library of Philadelphia
  • Michael DiBerardinis, Managing Director, City of Philadelphia

Members of the City’s Rebuild Team:

  • David Gould, Deputy Director, Community Engagement and Communications
  • Kira Strong, Deputy Director, Design and Construction

The new space also houses a "living room" area where customers can gather with friends, engage in library programs, and interact in a warm environment. On display in the Children’s Library is a mural by renowned late author and illustrator Maurice Sendak.
