Detailed Agenda

11:30 AM - 2:30 PM | Lunch & Regional Workforce Panel

Our meeting will kick-off with a special opportunity to hear from the Honorable Cherelle Parker, Mayor of Philadelphia. Mayor Parker will speak about her administration’s priorities and where she sees alignment and opportunity to partner with philanthropy to advance equity and address our city’s and region's most critical challenges. Following the Mayor’s remarks, we’ll welcome Kafi Lindsay, Director, Office of Strategic Partnerships, City of Philadelphia for a dialogue about opportunities for the funding community to collaborate with the Parker Administration to help achieve our common goals for Greater Philadelphia.

After a short break, we’ll reconvene for a panel discussion of a new report from the Pew Charitable Trusts, “Roadmap for Quality Jobs.”  The discussion will center on connecting the regional and city workforce and economic development systems to increase the availability of and access to quality jobs for Philadelphians. This means growing businesses AND making sure residents can access the education, training, and other supports needed to secure and succeed in those jobs.

Moderator:
+ Elinor Haider, Senior Director, The Pew Charitable Trusts

Panelists:
+ Chellie Cameron, President & CEO, The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia
+ Pat Clancy, President & CEO, Philadelphia Works, Inc.
+ Jodie Harris, President, PIDC
+ Alba Martinez, Commerce Director, Philadelphia Department of Commerce

3:00- 4:15 PM | Member Listening Sessions

These small group sessions for members only will kick-off with a brief overview from leadership about recent developments and the current state of the Network. The majority of our time will consist of a facilitated dialogue where members will have the opportunity to share their feedback about the organization’s role and value, and offer their insights and ideas regarding Philanthropy Network’s future.

NOTE: These sessions will be the first in a series of outreach and engagement efforts we will be making over the coming months to solicit member input.

4:30 - 5:15 PM | Member Business Meeting

To conclude the day’s programming, we’ll convene for our annual business meeting, which will feature remarks and reflections from Philanthropy Network Chair Rashanda Perryman, and reports from the Governance Committee on Board of Directors terms and leadership, and from the Finance Committee on the organization’s current financial position. We will also welcome Michael Kellerman, who will talk about his role as Interim Transformation Director and the process he envisions for exploring options and opportunities for Philanthropy Network to move toward a more vibrant and sustainable future.

5:15 - 6:30 PM | Member Reception

To cap off our day together, we invite you to stay and enjoy refreshments and time to network and connect with your Philanthropy Network friends and colleagues.
