Program. TTN Philadelphia Giving Circle opens its 2023 educational platform with a look into how philanthropy is changing and the role women are playing in this important evolution. Once the purview of older, wealthy white men, women are making significant inroads into the field and thus, changing not only to whom we give but how we give as well.

Did you know that women’s and girls’ organizations in the US continue to receive less than 2% of overall charitable dollars? Through a stimulating panel discussion, you will gain insights on how philanthropy is changing to have a more direct and localized impact. Hear why restrictions on grants and donations are lessening, and how strategies to support women can be made moreeffective by understanding the gender and wealth gaps, and some of the root drivers  of poverty. Learn ways to simplify funding to smaller, grassroots organizations that work to improve the conditions for those who live these challenges daily. Bottom line, learn how we can be more effective in bringing positive change.

Panelists:

  • Amy Holdsman, Moderator, Founder and President, Essential Leadership
  • Diane Cornman-Levy, Chief Disruptor, Women’s Way
  • Edurne (Eddie) Irizarry, Lead of Community Impact, Social  Venture Partners, Philadelphia
  • Jovida Hill, Executive Director, Office of Engagement for Women, Mayor's Office
