The Grassroots Solidarity Revolution is a new grassroots-led campaign promoted by CIVICUS Alliance calling for more solidarity and resources for grassroots activism. On March 29th the group will host an online session with grassroots changemakers and other international allies to present this revolution and discuss the changes sought. Webinar details below:

Most donors and enabling organizations are failing to truly support the fundamental work of grassroots activists. While we hear about increasing initiatives to shift more resources and even power to local changemakers and their communities, grassroots activists say that they continue to receive minimal funding and opportunities to build partnerships to advance their visions and agendas. They also feel that very little will change without a collective commitment to transform the broken relationships between grassroots activists and those funding and enabling entities.

In this 90-minute webinar, we will discuss why it is key to build strong relationships between activists, donors, and enablers to nurture and sustain locally driven change. And we’ll discuss how donors and enablers can start overhauling their practices to work in true partnerships and solidarity with grassroots activists.

Panelists:
- Dahlia de la Cerda, Marie Kolo, Naro Alonzo, Nawa Villy and Samuel Sebit, activists part of the Grassroots Changemakers team
- Otto Saki, Global Program Officer, Ford Foundation
- Saranel Benjamin, Head of Partnerships, Oxfam GB
