The Pew Charitable Trusts’ Philadelphia research and policy initiative releases the annual State of the City report highlighting essential facts about Philadelphia’s residents and neighborhoods, along with comparisons with other large US cities. The 2023 report explores the city’s ongoing recovery from the pandemic as well as indicators on a variety of topics including housing, demographics, public safety, the economy, and public health.

Join us for this overview and discussion of the 15th annual State of the City report (released in April 2023) with Katie Martin, Project Director for Pew's Philadelphia Research and Policy Initiative, where we'll delve into key findings and trends and explore the implications of this data for philanthropy.

Presenter:

Her areas of focus include the project’s annual State of the City report, citywide resident polling, and Pew’s analysis of the municipal civil legal system. Before coming to Pew, Martin worked in the mayor's office for the city of Philadelphia. Martin holds bachelor’s degrees from Boston University in philosophy and political science and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Pennsylvania.
