The Development & Communications Assistant has the primary responsibility to provide administrative support to the VP, Development & External Affairs and the department, including operations in fundraising, marketing, public relations and internal communications. Additional support provided to the President/CEO and Executive Team as needed. He/she: handles all gift processing and acknowledging; improves the operating quality and efficiency of the department through careful planning and a systematic approach to processes and procedures; manages independent and team projects; and assists with special events. Duties are performed to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies. All essential job responsibilities will be executed in accordance with Inglis Administrative policies, ethics and guidelines.


  • Gift Processing and Acknowledgment

  • Maintain electronic and paper files

  • Coordinate the Department Budget & Bills

  • Attend and assist with events, including pre-event and event day support as needed

  • Assist as needed in coordinating research and other documentation

The successful candidate holds a Bachelor Degree in a related field and three or more years of office administration experience. Accomplished user of Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Knowledge of additional software such as Microsoft Publisher, Visio and Raiser’s Edge a plus, but not required. A strong project coordinator with excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to handle multiple projects at once, a must.
