Family Office Principal with multiple civic, art, philanthropic, and business interests is seeking a seasoned Managing Director with family office experience and/or experience supporting corporate and non-profit leaders. Position is based in Philadelphia.

Ideal Managing Director will enjoy creating structure and processes while leading a small and talented team of professionals providing administrative and grant making support Key responsibilities include the following:

  • Serves as point of contact for diverse constituents ranging from CEOs to immediate and extended family.
  • Leads and manages staff and consultants, setting direction, holding regular meetings, and providing performance feedback.
  • Participates in meetings with and for Principal to allow for appropriate follow-up.
  • Liaises with lawyers, trustees, and other advisors.
  • Oversees organization of family meetings, retreats, and training/education.
  • Supports organization of special events and convenings.
  • Coordinates with and identifies resources for legal, financial, human resources, and others, as needed.
  • Oversees creation of office processes, protocols, and procedures, including electronic and paper record management systems or customized solutions.
  • Negotiates, reviews, and signs contracts.
  • Oversees high-level research and writing, as needed.
  • Occasional travel.

The position is ideally suited for someone who thrives on creating structure in a small team environment.  You must be a good listener, articulate, intuitive, curious, and take-charge in a positive but understated way. You must have high integrity, be creative, well-spoken, and gain satisfaction from creating customized solutions and maintaining complete confidentiality.

Ten plus years of experience and advanced degree preferred. Civic-minded individuals and those with an appreciation for local culture, philanthropy, and civic affairs may find the work most appealing.
