Drug giant GlaxoSmithKline has announced the winners of its annual $40,000 IMPACT Awards that go to organizations in the Philadelphia area and in North Carolina, where it makes its U.S. headquarters.

"All of the GlaxoSmithKline (NYSE:GSK) Impact Award winners are leaders in the nonprofit world and in their communities,” said Mary Linda Andrews, GlaxoSmithKline director of community partnerships. "The dedicated teams of professionals and volunteers at these organizations are working on the front lines to provide access to health care at a time when people need it most. These awards provide additional resources to help them continue their important work.”

• Legal Clinic for the Disabled Inc. of Philadelphia.

• Phoenixville Healthcare Access Foundation of Chester County, Pa.
